IMAGISTATION ACTIVITIES

The Women's Museum has a special exhibition, Choosing to Participate that is also located in the ImagiStation. The exhibit posters were created by Facing History and Ourselves and the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service to encourage dialogue, engagement, respect and participation in our communities.

Please follow the special link to the Choosing to Participate website:
http:www.choosingtoparticipate.org/explore/resources - featuring the following resources:

RESOURCES FOR FAMILIES:

  • Recommended films, websites and reading lists
  • Nationwide events on Raising Ethical Children

RESOURCES FOR COMMUNITIES:

  • Recommended films, websites, and reading lists
  • Community Conversations, a series of community-wide dialogues across the United States.

After looking at the exhibit, be sure to take part in the following activities:

ACTIVITY 1 - SHARE YOUR ART
How can you as a young person make a difference in the world? Create an art piece or drawing that represents how you would stand up for the civil rights of others.

ACTIVITY 2 - REFLECTIONS
After looking at the poster exhibit, tell us how you feel. Write a personal reflection about how you have chosen to participate in standing up for others. Or, how someone stood up for you!!
