Join The Women's Museum for the Women’s Equality Day Luncheon
In the Footsteps of Seneca Falls
With Coline Jenkins, Guest Speaker
Wednesday, August 22, 2007, 1:00 p.m.
After the observance of Women’s Equality Day at Dallas City Hall, celebrations move to The Women's Museum: An Institute for the Future for lunch and a special program. Using the first women’s conference at Seneca Falls in 1848 as a backdrop, guests will reflect on this monumental event and its importance in the history of women in America. We will commemorate the passing of the 19th Amendment with a unique presentation by Coline Jenkins, great great granddaughter of Elizabeth Cady Stanton, and remember the women who fought for the right to vote. Participants will revisit how our foremothers set the framework for the rights and privileges that empower us today. This luncheon program will also address contemporary gender issues and provide a forum for women to share their personal experiences.
Reservations required.
Program free of admission
Lunch provided at $10/person
The Women's Museum will feature special screenings of Iron Jawed Angels and Dreams of Equality throughout the month of August. Visit the Museum website for screening times and dates at www.thewomensmuseum.org.
