About the Exhibit
Women’s Work: Selected Prints from the Collection of the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts is a celebration of women artists who boldly undertook the challenges of printmaking and the quality of their resulting success. These works span the twentieth century with impressions by Works Progress Administration (WPA) artists Mabel Dwight, Clara Skinner, and Beatrice Cuming; to New York School artists Lee Krasner and Grace Hartigan; as well as African-American artists Elizabeth Catlett, Faith Ringgold, and Carrie Mae Weems.
