Conserve Energy and Reduce Electricity Costs with New Advanced Meters from Oncor

Located in the AT&T Gathering everyday during the State Fair.

Come visit the Oncor Smart Texas℠ Experience Center to learn about Oncor's deployment of more than 3 million advanced meters in its Texas service areas by 2012.

The exhibit features interactive kiosks, videos and real-world demonstrations to help you:

• Learn about Oncor and its use of technology to improve electric delivery
• Understand your energy consumption
• Experience how different household appliances affect your energy use
• Imagine the future of a Smart Texas
• Observe how rethinking energy will help the environment

Oncor has added a special center for children to their Smart TexasSM Experience Center this year. Children of all ages can express their creativity by customizing their own light switch cover. These stickers can be placed over existing light switch plates to help everyone remember that saving energy can be as simple as remembering to turn off the lights.

Oncor expects its Advanced Metering System (AMS) to create new opportunities for consumers to conserve energy and reduce their electricity costs. Consumers and small business owners will be able to track their energy consumption in 15-minute increments via a Web portal and identify patterns of energy consumption that can then be used to better control their energy use. There is no more waiting for a monthly bill to know how much energy was consumed, allowing the home or business owner to take immediate action and have a meaningful impact on their electric bill.
